Of the seven platforms revisited here, Full Fabric holds the strongest position for business schools and specialist institutions, followed by Workday Student for universities on Workday's HR and finance platform and TechnologyOne OneEducation for institutions in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Each of the seven was already a credible option at the start of 2024. What makes them worth a second look is how their positioning, product scope and published terms developed over the following two years, and how those changes alter the case for each one today.
The review covers enterprise suites, UK regulatory specialists, a US mid-market platform and a budget option for smaller institutions. Ellucian and Oracle sit outside this particular set.
At a glance
The period from 2024 to the end of 2025 reshaped the vendor map more than the feature lists. The largest deal, Ellucian's purchase of Anthology's student and ERP business, closed on the last day of 2025 and folded another SIS line into an already broad portfolio.
Recognition from analysts and partners clustered in the same window. Jenzabar's Leader placement in IDC's 2024 North America MarketScape, a Gartner Market Guide mention for Full Fabric in 2025 and TechnologyOne's AWS partner badge all date from these two years.
Commercial terms moved as well. Classe365 replaced pricing that had stood since 2013, effective at the start of 2025, while Full Fabric's flat platform fee remains unusual in a market where most vendors quote only on request.
Regulatory timelines are the forward-looking thread. UK institutions are preparing for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement in January 2027, and Tribal has said it is readying SITS customers for that change.
Admissions is where Full Fabric's depth is most visible. Evaluations, interviews, committees, offers, deposits, payment plans and a pre-arrival hub give business schools a structured process for selective, high-touch recruitment. ESMT Berlin's director of admissions has described the platform as easy to navigate and popular with her staff.
That admissions record does not stop at the offer. CRM, commerce and the SIS share one data model, so course management, grades, transcripts, diplomas and alumni communications follow the same learner. HESA reporting serves UK institutions, and a UCAS connector links to the UK admissions service.
The company states ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification across the whole platform, including its AI Console, which is disabled by default. Pricing begins with a €12,000 per year platform fee, plus usage charges for Commerce, Admissions and SIS.
The integration list reflects how specialist institutions actually operate. Bidirectional connectors cover Salesforce, Dynamics and HubSpot, payments run through Flywire, Stripe, PayPal or Adumo, and contracts can be signed through DocuSign or PandaDoc. Turnitin, Canvas and Blackboard connect through the API.
Pros
Cons
Workday describes Student as a platform "built for the future", and the company's ambitions show in skills intelligence that aligns study pathways with workforce needs. The product's positioning rests on sharing a platform with Workday HCM, Financial Management and Adaptive Planning.
Student Records handles enrolment, progress tracking and achievement in real time, according to Workday, while advising tools provide at-risk insights. Self-service is designed for mobile devices first, with personalised notifications, and Student Financials keeps tuition data on the same unified platform as the finance team's records.
The University of Arkansas System runs 14 institutions on Workday HCM, Finance and Student. Workday's own Canada page cautions that unreleased features may change, a useful reminder when evaluating roadmap claims.
Pros
Cons
TechnologyOne presented its 2023 CourseLoop acquisition as creating the first SaaS platform to cover the whole student lifecycle within one ERP. Curriculum management now sits beside student management, timetabling, exam management, finance, HR and payroll.
The company says OneEducation serves over 6.5 million students. Its SaaS+ model includes implementation, support and upgrade costs in one fee, reducing the number of separate contracts a university manages.
Named customers include Victoria University. The suite's geographic reach covers Australia, New Zealand and the UK, where the University of Chester and LIPA appear in TechnologyOne's own content. The DxP Student portal gives learners self-service access, and an agentic AI layer runs across the suite.
Pros
Cons
Localisation and internationalisation of the SIS are listed features, alongside standard, ad hoc and user-defined reporting. Thesis SM serves small to medium institutions in the UK and Canada.
UK compliance includes HESA and HESES, ILR, UniStats, UKVI and CAS, and GDPR. Custom workflows apply institution-defined business logic with email automation, and a student portal handles self-service.
Implementation takes 12 to 24 months. The product descends from Unit4 Student Management and older Thesis systems including CAMS and QL. Its UK G-Cloud listing cites clients from 1,000 to almost 40,000 students, a wide range for a mid-market product.
Pros
Cons
Campus Marketplace powered by Jenzabar and Jenzabar Communications show how the platform extends beyond the core record into commerce and omnichannel messaging. The SIS, financial aid, finance and HCM components share a single system of record.
Nontraditional students are a stated focus, supported by flexible and recurring payment plans. Enrolment and retention, advancement and online learning are also covered.
Recognition in 2024 included a Gold at the American Business Awards. Jenzabar is based in Boston and focuses on US higher education, with a regional page aimed at Mid-Atlantic private schools. Data analytics and automated workflows round out the platform.
Pros
Cons
The student experience layer in SITS includes self-service, an Award Predictor, Survey Manager and university apps. These sit on top of a registry built for UK regulation.
Statutory coverage includes HESA, OfS, SLC and Graduate Outcomes, and degree apprenticeships are managed from ILR submission to placements. Tribal reports that SITS is trusted by more UK universities than any other system.
The company is preparing customers for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement in January 2027. Independent higher education institutions are directed to EBS. Retention tools add engagement tracking, absence management and an extenuating circumstances workflow covering requests through to appeals.
Pros
Cons
Classe365 prices add-on modules per activation with unlimited students, so a college pays the same for its LMS or CRM regardless of enrolment growth. The Core module is priced by student numbers.
The platform covers student records, attendance, report cards, degree audit, fees and online payments. Parent and student portals and mobile apps are included.
Annual renewals receive a 10% discount, and enterprise terms apply above 1,000 students. National higher education reporting is not described, which makes Classe365 better suited to training providers and smaller private colleges than to universities with statutory returns. Not-for-profit customers above a spending threshold can also claim a 15% discount.
Pros
Cons
The seven platforms divide cleanly by institution type. Business schools, conservatoires and executive education providers, where admissions is selective and programmes vary in length, are best served by Full Fabric's unified record.
Large universities and multi-institution systems that already run Workday for HR and finance gain the most from Workday Student, while those in Australia, New Zealand or the UK replacing several back-office systems should compare TechnologyOne OneEducation.
UK universities split by size: Tribal SITS for large registries with complex returns, Thesis SM for small and mid-sized institutions. Jenzabar One serves US private colleges, particularly those with adult learners, and Classe365 fits small colleges and training providers that prioritise cost control over statutory reporting.
Each platform was assessed against four criteria: the scope of the student record, national reporting support, integration with other institutional systems and the transparency of commercial terms. The assessment relied on the information each vendor publishes about its own products, supplemented by public procurement listings such as UK G-Cloud where available. No product was tested hands-on.
Vendor claims, including customer counts and market share, are attributed to the company making them. Platforms were ranked by fit for the institution types described above, not by size or revenue.
Choose Full Fabric if selective admissions and a single record from enquiry to alumni matter most.
Choose Workday Student if your HR and finance already run on Workday.
Choose TechnologyOne OneEducation if you want student, finance and HR replaced together in Australia, New Zealand or the UK.
Choose Tribal SITS if you are a large UK university with demanding statutory returns.
Choose Classe365 if cost predictability outweighs statutory reporting.
