Abstract
Two interesting areas of application of the context research are CSCW Computer Supported Cooperative Work) and GDSS (Group Decision Support Systems). CSCW studies group work and how technological systems can improve such work. GDSS covers all aspects of Group Decision. Included in CSCW are considered, e.g., the models of Electronic Meeting Systems, Workflow, Groupware. Also, part of CSCW is the design of such systems. Somehow, the research communities of Context and CSCW have not had rich interactions in the past. For instance, little has been done to relate context to the awareness concept as used in CSCW. The same is true for the Context and GDSS areas. In group work, to establish common and shared context among the participants is extremely important condition for the overall success of the system operation This workshop is a first attempt to bring together researchers from these communities to explore ideas from one of these fields to provide useful insights in the other field.
